The PCVision frame grabber comes on a half-slot 32-bit PCI bus card. It provides four 8-bit analog video inputs that can digitize monochrome images from variable scan cameras, as well as RS-170, CCIR, and progressive-scan cameras with resolutions to 1024 ¥ 1024 pixels. On-board memory of 4 Mbytes helps transfer a 512 ¥ 512-pixel image to the host CPU in less than 4 ms. The card reduces CPU overhead and sustains data-transfer rates of 120 Mbytes/s to the PCI bus.
