This fall, the AIA will hold it’s first Vision in Life Sciences Conference, which will feature in-depth presentations on cutting edge vision technologies used in life sciences applications.

The event—which will be held November 19 at the Marriott Hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter area of downtown San Diego—will cover such technologies as cameras and image sensors, imaging optics, lasers, lighting sources, and optical filters. It will also include tabletop exhibits from leading companies in the industry looking to showcase the latest vision and imaging technologies in the life sciences industry.

"Vision and imaging are critical components of Life Sciences applications today," said Jeff Burnstein, President of AIA. "How companies can apply vision in Life Sciences is not as widely understood as in industries like electronics or automotive. This event is a great chance for Life Sciences companies to learn how vision and imaging technologies can help them solve their specific challenges."

Life sciences applications are using such imaging technologies as CCD and CMOS image sensors, lighting, microscopes, filters, and software to process data to allow their devices to fulfill a specific purpose, according to the AIA. At the show, attendees will have the chance to learn more about these technologies from the experts themselves, while also providing a networking opportunity for all.

In addition, the AIA will conduct Certified Vision Professional (CVP) – Basic level training and certification program from November 17-18, in conjunction with the event.

Registration for the conference and CVP Basic Training is now available here.
