Using an e-APD (Avalanche photodiode detector), the C-REDinfrared camera from First Light Imaging is designed for a number of applications, including scientific imaging, medical imaging, astronomical imaging, industrial imaging, and defense imaging. C-RED features a 320 x 256 array of electron-initiated avalanched photodiodes using MCT semiconductor materials with a 24 µm pixel pitch and is sensitive in the 1.3 to 2.5 µm wavelength. The SWIR camera is able to achieve frame rates of up to 3,500 fps and has a quantum efficiency of 70%, and also features a pulse-tube cooler, a cooled microlens array, and subelectron readout noise.
