LMI Technologies’ latest Gocator 3D smart sensor, the Gocator 2880, is designed for the scanning of large objects with complex shapes and features built-in dual stereo cameras. The IP67-rated 3D smart sensor features 1280 points/profile resolution field of view up to 1260 mm, a measurement range up to 800 mm, and outputs full profiles up to 980 Hz. The sensor, which features a GigE interface, operates at a scan rate of 380 to 920 Hz in raw mode, where the user must combine data from the two cameras. With the release, LMI Technologies has also upgraded its Gocator firmware from version 4.0 to 4.1, which improves process optimization with a number of new features.
