Concord Camera Corp. selects OmniVision megapixel digital CameraChips

AUGUST 14--OmniVision Technologies Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA; www.ovt.com), an independent supplier of CMOS CameraChip solutions for high-volume imaging applications, is providing Concord Camera Corp. with 1.3- and 2.0- Mpixel CameraChips for its Concord EyeQ line of digital cameras.

AUGUST 14--OmniVision Technologies Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA; www.ovt.com), an independent supplier of CMOS CameraChip solutions for high-volume imaging applications, is providing Concord Camera Corp. with 1.3- and 2.0- Mpixel CameraChips for its Concord EyeQ line of digital cameras. OmniVision Technologies will provide its OV9620 1.3-Mpixel and OV2610 2-Mpixel high-resolution CameraChips in volume to Concord Camera as part of its product offerings.

OmniVision's OV9620 is a 1.3 million-pixel-resolution color CameraChip designed for digital still camera applications that require image resolution capable of producing keepsake quality prints but where design complexity and power requirements are of concern. Similarly, the OV2610 is a 2 million-pixel-resolution CameraChip that is pin-for-pin compatible with the OV9620. Both CameraChips utilize a 1/2-in. lens format and operate on 3.3 V. The combination of high resolution and low power consumption enable camera manufacturers to provide competitive resolution camera solutions with greater battery life than competing CCD-based solutions.

CameraChip solutions are in cell phones, personal digital assistants, automobiles and industrial machine vision applications, as well as surveillance and biometric security applications.
