3D color camera from Zivid Labs demonstrated live at VISION 2016
At VISION 2016, Henrik Schumann-Olsen, CEO and Co-Founder of Zivid Labs—a spin-out of the SINTEF research organization—showcased his company’s new Zivid 3D color camera. Currently the start-up company’s only product, the Zivid 3D camera is a real-time color 3D camera that is able to output 2.3 MPixel 3D RGBD images (X,Y,Z and R,G,B for each pixel) at an acquisition rate of >10 Hz, with 100 ms snapshots. The camera has a USB 3.0 interface, an optimal working distance of 0.6 – 1.1m and a depth resolution of 0.1mm @0.6m. Schumann-Olsen claims that the camera is the most accurate real-time, full-color 3D camera.

Øystein Skotheim, CTO and Co-Founder, then provided information on how the camera works while providing a live demonstration of the camera and its multiple modes of operation. Arild Ulfeng, CPO, then provided some additional information on the 3D camera, included technical specifications and capabilities.
