Developed by G5IR and available through Sierra-Olympic Technologies, the 550CZ-18 long range infraredcamera is designed for all-weather security and surveillance applications. The infrared camera is based on a 640 x 512 pixel indium antimonide (InSb) detector with a 15 µm pixel pitch, and is optimized to operate in the MWIR spectrum (3 to 5 µm). Additionally, the camera features an 18X continuous zoom lens that provides 18° horizontal field of view at wide angle and 1° HFOV at narrow angle and can reliably detect human-sized targets at 18 kilometers in good conditions. Applications for the 550CZ-18, according to Sierra-Olympic, include border protection, vessel traffic monitoring, critical infrastructure protection, and airport perimeter surveillance.
