FRAMOS has announced that it has been appointed by e2v as official distributor for their entire portfolio of CMOS image sensors.
Jade, Sapphire, Ruby, and Onyx global shutter sensor series—up to 2 MPixel in size—will be the focus of FRAMOS, allowing the company to address special imaging applications in the near infrared segment, applications in extreme low-light imaging conditions, and provide sensors in the extended temperature range.
"The FRAMOS Group is in a period of global expansion and tremendous growth," said Axel Krepil, Head of FRAMOS’ Image Sensor Division, "Establishing this agreement with e2v strengthens our portfolio for customers and will enable us to solidify our leadership in the global Machine Vision and special applications market while offering local and timely support at all levels."
As a global imaging partner, FRAMOS is able to support its customers with a broad service portfolio that ranges from sensors to solutions on a worldwide base. Meanwhile, e2v has more than 30 years’ experience in designing, manufacturing and delivering image sensors and cameras, CCD image sensors, arrays and cameras and EMCCD image sensors. The company’s expertise has resulted in their involvement in some of the highest profile imaging projects, including being the eyes for NASA’s Hubble space telescope and providing the largest sensor array (106 sensors making a 1 GPixel array) for ESA’s GAIA mission to map the Milky Way.
