PRESS RELEASE

BitFlow's Karbon-CL Frame Grabber Now Supports the New Basler A406k Very High Speed Camera

BitFlow is very pleased to announce that it now supports the new Basler A406k 10-tap Camera Link camera with their Karbon-CL PCI Express bus frame grabber. The BitFlow Karbon-CL is the fastest frame grabber in the world, capable of taking in up to 160 bits of data, up to 20 taps, and clock rates of up to 85MHz. Karbon-CL plugs into the x8 PCI Express bus, and DMA's camera data directly into application memory at up to 1.7 Gigabytes per second. The Karbon-CL has several of every type of I/O to support even the most demanding industrial or medical application.

The Basler A406k is the highest data rate Camera Link camera in world. With a 2352 x 1726 progressive scan array clocked at 85MHz, the 10-tap A406k can capture 200 full frames per second into system RAM. A set of individual AOIs can be defined with the A406k, with each individual AOI capable of having a different parameter settings such as AOI position, AOI dimensions, exposure time, and flash activation.

Together, the BitFlow Karbon-CL and the Basler A406k are perfect for industrial, factory floor applications. According to Basler, the A406k is particularly useful in applications such as PCB inspection where the AOI feature is often used. Bare board inspection and flat panel display inspection are also applications where the A406's superior image quality and high speed are both required. Wafer inspection, bonding inspection, die placement, and packaging are all typical applications in the semiconductor market. Other applications include 3D measurement, document processing, and postal and document sorting.

BitFlow has a very easy to use Software Developer's Kit that makes adding precision image acquisition with the Basler A406k a snap. BitFlow has frame grabbers that support all of Basler's Camera Link cameras, including frame grabbers that can capture up to four Camera Link cameras, or one or two medium/full Camera Link, and one or two 10-tap cameras - all from one high speed PCI Express bus slot. Please visit the BitFlow website for full details.
