Cognex 3D sensor models now bundled with vision controller and new 3D vision tools
Cognex Corporation has announced that its DS1000 series of laser displacement sensors now come bundled with the new Cognex VC5 vision controller and an expanded selection of 3D vision tools. The Cognex VC5 vision controller, which comes with the DS1050, DS1101, and DS1300 sensors, can control up to four 3D sensors and comes pre-installed with Cognex Designer software, which enables the development of 3D applications and a graphical user interface. The controller features an Ethernet port, 8 inputs, 16 outputs, VGA monitor, and 3 USB 2.0 ports.
In addition, the sensors will new come with an expanded selection of advanced vision tools, including 3D height, plane fitting, plane-to-plane angle, volume, and cross section. DS1000 3D displacement sensors use laser triangulation to extract 3D information from the parts it scans.
