Sony introduces Super HAD II CCD sensors for security cameras
Sony's ICX810DKV and ICX811DKV Super HAD II CCD image sensors—which feature compact, small outline no-lead (SON) packages—are designed specifically for security cameras. The NTSC format ICX ICX810DKV is a 1020 x 508 pixel sensor with a 5 µm x 7.40 µm unit cell size, while the PAL format ICX811DKV sensor is a 1020 x 596 pixel sensor with a 5 µm x 6.25 µm unit cell size. Both of the sensors measure just .3 mm x 9.7 mm x 1.72 mm in size, which helps to reduce the board area and camera size. In addition, the 20-pin ceramic SON package eliminates the need for hand-soldering required by the existing plastic DIP package, which helps to reduce the mounting burden and costs for users.
