Point Grey launches Blackfly USB3 Vision CCD camera family

Point Grey has added to its existing line of Blackfly GigE Vision cameras by announcing the launch of the Blackfly USB3 Vision CCD camera line, which will provide an easy interface transition for users.

Point Grey has added to its existing line of Blackfly GigE Vision cameras by announcing the launch of the Blackfly USB3 Vision CCD camera line, which will provide an easy interface transition for users. The first available BFLY-U3-13S2 models will feature monochrome and color versions of the 1/3" Sony ICX445 EXview HAD global shutter CCD image sensor. The 1.3 MPixel sensor has a 3.75 µm x 3.75 µm pixel size and achieves a frame rate of 30 fps at 1288 x 964 resolution. The 29 x 29 x30 mm Blackfly also has a number of other features, including temperature, power, and status monitoring; image processing pipeline for color interpolation, look up table, and gamma; a 16 MByte frame buffer for retransmitting images; and USB3 Vision support. Further Blackfly USB3 Vision models ranging from VGA to 5 MPixel are planned to be released throughout 2014
