MARCH 5, 2009--The latest GiantDragon GigE industrial camera, CSGS15BC23, provides 1280 x 1024 resolution at 15 frames/s. Integrating at 500 ms and exhibiting a response range of 230 to 1050 nm, the GiantDragon CSGS15BC23 has sensitivity in the visible, UV, and NIR portions of the light spectrum, allowing it to inspect products for blemishes, surface artifacts, or defects not observable in standard lighting conditions, as well as where there is changing light intensity or on reflective surfaces that produce high levels of visible-spectrum noise. Plastic film, glass, coating, or other UV-blocking materials are not needed. The camera features a 2/3-in., monochrome, progressive-scan CCD with antiblooming capability. Its global shutter and external trigger permit synchronization in machine-vision applications. An application programming interface (API) is included in the free SDK. The camera supports the AIA GigE Vision open standard, enabling real-time delivery of high-bandwidth, uncompressed imaging data to host PCs over standard Ethernet cables at up to 100 m without specialized interface hardware or frame grabbers.

PRESS RELEASE

Toshiba Teli Introduces GiantDragon GigE Vision Industrial Camera Integrating UV and Near IR Sensitivity

-- Gigabit Ethernet Camera Captures Defects Not Seen In Standard Lighting --

IRVINE, CA, January 27, 2009 -- Toshiba Teli Corporation has expanded its GiantDragon gigabit Ethernet (GigE) industrial camera line to include a model with UV and Near IR sensitivity, the CSGS15BC23, providing an impressive 1280 x 1024 resolution at 15 frames-per-second (fps).

Integrating at 500 mil seconds and featuring a wide response range of 230nm to 1050nm, the GiantDragon CSGS15BC23 has sensitivity in the visible, the ultraviolet (UV) and the near IR portions of the light spectrum, allowing it to inspect products for blemishes, surface artifacts, or defects not observable in standard lighting conditions, as well as where there is changing light intensity or on reflective surfaces that produce high levels of visible-spectrum noise. Plastic film, glass, coating or other UV-blocking materials are not needed.

The GiantDragon CSGS15BC23 features a highly sensitive 2/3-inch monochrome progressive scan CCD with excellent anti-blooming capability. Its global shutter and external trigger permit synchronization in demanding machine vision applications. And with the free Software Developer's Kit, Toshiba Teli supplies an Application Programming Interface (API) for fast and easy control.

The GiantDragon CSGS15BC23 leverages the economy and agility of the AIA GigE Vision open standard. This innovative design enables the real-time delivery of high bandwidth streams of non-compressed imaging data to host PCs over standard Ethernet cables to distances of up to 100 meters without specialized interface hardware or frame grabbers.

The CSGS15BC23 measures a compact 44mm x 29mm x 70mm (W X H x D), allowing for easy integration and interchanges.
