JANUARY 2, 2009--BaumerTXG GigE cameras are designed to provide power over Cat6 Ethernet (PoE) cable, eliminating the need for a separate power cable. An industrial power injector module or Ethernet switch provides power down the Cat6 Ethernet cable at distances up to 100 m. Cameras feature high-speed multicamera operation and frame rates up to 90 frames/s with resolutions from VGA to 5 Mpixels. Standard functions include gain, offset, and exposure time settings as well as binning and true partial scan (ROI) readout modes for improved sensitivity in low light applications or increased frame rates. A generic programming interface, Baumer-GAPI, facilitates the camera's integration into an application, and SDK software provides camera control and development.

PRESS RELEASE

Revolutionary GigE Cameras provide power over Ethernet cable

New Design Simplifies Installation and Improves Reliability

Southington, Conn. -- October 6, 2008 -- Baumer Ltd. has introduced a revolutionary new line of GigE cameras specially designed to provide power over the Cat6 Ethernet cable, eliminating the need for a separate power cable. Baumer TXG Cameras with PoE simplify the mechanical design and reliability of a vision system, especially for robotic applications where each additional cable can cause long-term problems. A specially developed industrial power injector module or Ethernet switch provides power down the Cat6 Ethernet cable at distances up to 100 meters.

Baumer TXG Cameras with POE feature high-speed multi-camera operation and frame rates of up to 90 frames per second with resolutions from VGA to 5 Meg. These cameras have the capacity to change image formats "on the fly," and offer extremely low readout noise and minimal heat generation.

All TX Series cameras are designed with very compact, robust housings that weigh just 90 grams and are 34 x 34 x 48mm in size, making them ideal for small space applications. The housing on TXG with POE cameras is 10mm longer to accommodate an extra PCB that manages the incoming power from the Cat6 cable.

These cameras are used to view objects on robotic arms, robotic pick-and-place systems, automated packaging lines, semiconductor manufacturing lines, and in other applications where machine vision systems are essential, especially where cabling movement and cable life are a concern.
