Designed for ultra-sensitive measurements in the 10 eV to 30 keV energy range in scientific applications, the SOPHIA-XO:2048 camera from Princeton Instruments is the newest addition to the company’s line of SOPHIA UV-NIR cameras. The SOPHIA-XO:2048 features a back-illuminated 2048 x 2048 CCD image sensor with no anti-reflection coating and a 15 µm pixel size that provides greater than 3 fps with 15 MHz readout speed at full resolution. Proprietary ArcTec ultra-deep-cooling technology minimizes dark noise by thermoelectrically cooling the CCD to less than -130°F (-90°C) using only air assist. The camera is supported by the 64-bit LightField imaging and spectroscopy software, which provides user enhancements such as a built-in math engine to perform live data analysis and direct control from third-party packages.
