Designed for applications including fluorescencemicroscopy, multispectral imaging, and low-light inspection, the new 2.1 MPixel CS2100M-USB Quantalux sCMOS camera from Thorlabs features a USB 3.0 interface and compact housing for integration into various setups. The camera is based on a monochrome 1920 x 1080 scientific CMOS (sCMOS) sensor with a 1e‐ read‐noise and a 5.04 µm pixel size that can capture images at 50 fps at 16-bit resolution. The sensor is a rolling shutter model with equal exposure mode (EEP) mode for synchronizing light sources as well as passive thermal management, reducing dark current without the need for a cooling fan or thermoelectric cooler.
The camera offers a peak quantum efficiency of 61% at 600 nm, a dynamic range of up to 87 dB, triggered and bulb exposure modes, and offers support for LabVIEW, MATLAB, µManager / ImageJ (Coming Soon), and .NET.
