CMOS image sensor from ON Semiconductor targets high-end security applications

ON Semiconductorhas announced the release of the AR0521 CMOS image sensor, which is based on a 2.2μm back-side illuminated pixel technology specifically targeted at security and surveillance applications. The AR0521 is a 1/2.5”, 5 MPixel rolling shutter CMOS image sensor that captures images in either linear or high dynamic range modes and includes features such asbinning, windowing, and both video and single frame modes. The color CMOS image sensor offers 8, 10, or 12-bit outputs and achieves speeds of up to 60 fps with a 1440p mode for 16:9 video.
