Two new lines of fixed focal length lenses based on the HP Series of lenses have been introduced by Edmund Optics: the HPr Series (Ruggedized version), and the HPi Series (Instrumentation imaging version).
The HPr series are fixed focal length lenses available in 8.5, 12, and 16 mm focal lengths for image sensors up to 9 MPixels in size. Targeting machine vision applications, the lenses feature individual optics that are glued into place to reduce pixel shift on the image. Additionally, the lenses feature a stainless-steel locking C-Mount clamp and working distances from 75 mm to infinity.
Also based on the same design and internal optics as the HP Series are the HPi series of lenses, which are designed for instrumentation imaging applications. These lenses are available in 12 and 16 mm focal lengths for image sensors up to 9 MPixels in size. Additionally, these lenses feature streamlined mechanical components for a compact size and reduced cost, as well as the same adjustable, lockable focus iris as the HP series lenses.
