At SPIE Photonics West 2018, Lumenerawill provide a multispectral imaging demonstration that uses two Lt29059-NIR cameras. These cameras feature a USB 3.1 interface, the 29 MPixel NIR-enhanched KAI-29052 CCD image sensor from ON Semiconductor, and integrated Canon EF lens support for remote iris and focus control. The color version of the camera uses a 720nm IR-cut filter and the monochrome version uses an 800nm bandpass filter.

The demonstration software leverages Lumenera’s API for image capture and camera control and OpenCV for image processing and analysis. The software displays the four separate wavelengths of the target in high definition: Red, Green, Blue, and Near-IR (850-1100nm) channels, plus color and aligned NDVI composite images streaming and displaying in real time. This, according to Lumenera, makes it easy to distinguish non-organic items (rocks), semi-organic items (circuit boards), and organic materials (plant leaves) all in the same field of view.
