Teledyne DALSA introduces new area camera with Sony polarized image sensor

With the addition of the Genie Nano-M2450-Polarized area camera, Teledyne DALSA reports that it is the first company to offer polarization for both area and line scan cameras.

With the addition of the Genie Nano-M2450-Polarized area camera, Teledyne DALSA reports that it is the first company to offer polarization for both area and line scan cameras.The Genie Nano-M2450-Polarized camera features Sony’s IMX250-MZR polarized image sensor, which is a 5.1 MPixel CMOS image sensor with a monochrome quad polarization filter that can achieve a frame rate of 35 fps. Four different angled polarizers (90°, 45°, 135° and 0°) are positioned on each pixel, and every block of four pixels comprises a calculation unit. Additionally, with Teledyne DALSA’s TurboDrive technology for GigE Vision cameras, frame rates in the new model can increase by as much as 50%.
