IDS Imaging Development Systems Inc. recently introduced a new addition to its NXT malibu
camera line. The new NXT malibu RS18083, which enables onboard AI-based image processing, video
compression, and streaming in 4K resolution, comes equipped with the Sony Starvis IMX678
CMOS color rolling shutter sensor. It has 8 MPixel, 3856 x 2176 resolution with 2 µm pixel size,
and up to 30 fps frame rate, and is designed for use in low ambient light conditions.
The camera has GigE interface and a C-mount lens mount. It has a 34 x 44 x 77 mm footprint, weighs
181 g, and is IP30 rated. It has an operating temperature range of 0°C to 55°C and an operating
humidity range of 20% to 80%.
The camera is designed for a variety of machine vision applications, such as inspections and sorting.
