Small Form-Factor Image Sensor

OMNIVISION Technologies Inc. has announced the OGOVE global shutter image sensor. It has 640 x 480 resolution with a pixel size of 3.6 x 2.7 mm and comes in a 1/7.5-in optical format. It has low power consumption at less than 34 mW when running at 60 fps with VGA. The sensor supports one-lane MIPI D-PHY at up to 800 Mbps. OMNIVISION says the sensor is suitable for applications involving simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), gesture detection, head and eye tracking, and depth and motion detection. The OGOVE GS image sensor is available for sampling now and will be in mass production in mid-2023.
