Automation Technology recently launched a new 3D sensor series, the ECS (Eco Compact Sensor) sensor. These sensors have a maximum profile speed of 25kHz and a profile resolution of 2048 points per profile.
There are currently two models available. The first one is the C6-2040-ECS-100-106-SX 1G, which has 100 mm X-FOV, 106 mm working distance, 60 mm Z-range, 49 µm X-resolution, and 1.9 µm Z-resolution. The second one is the C6-2040-160-197-SX-1G, which has 160 mm X-FOV, 197 mm working distance, 120 mm Z-range, 78 µm X- resolution, and 4.9 µm Z-resolution. Both sensors have class 2M, 660 nm red wavelength lasers.
These sensors are GenICam and GigE Vision compliant, and are equipped with automation region-tracking, automatic region search, multiple regions, multipart, autostart, history buffer, mult-slope, and multipeak features.
The sensors are installed in an IP54 rated anodized aluminum housing and can operate in temperatures from 0°C to 40°C and up to 80% humidity. The sensors are designed for a variety of machine vision applications in industry sectors such as food and beverage, logistics and packaging, and robot vision.
