GPixel Launches New Backlit CMOS Image Sensor

Sensor designed for machine vision tasks such as inspections, defect detection, precision manufacturing quality control.

GPixel recently launched a new backlit CMOS image sensor, the GMAX15271BSI.

The new rolling shutter CMOS sensor, with 29.1mm x 21mm photosensitive area, 1.5µ x 1.5µ pixel size, and 35.9 mm optical format delivers 271 MPixel, 19,376 x 14,000 resolution on a diagonal image format and can achieve a frame rate of up to 8.5 fps. It has a 73.9 dB dynamic range and can operate in monochrome and RGB color.

The new sensor is especially designed for machine vision tasks in industrial and scientific applications requiring extreme detail and dynamic range, including such applications as flat panel display inspection, semiconductor and PCB defect detection, and precision manufacturing quality control.
