High-speed system captures at 1,000 fps x 1080p from multiple synchronized cameras
System features ring buffers for pre/post triggering of video recording, slow motion playback, and compatibility with a wide range of cameras and frame grabbers using industry-standard GigE Vision (including at 10 and 25 GigE), USB3 Vision, CoaXPress, and Camera Link interfaces.
NorPix has developed a portable high-speed recording system capable of capturing high-definition images from multiple synchronized cameras.
The system – based on the StreamPix Recording Station – uses a portable computing system housing a CXP frame grabber. In a demonstration of its capabilities, the system captured images from 2 synchronized high-definition (1920 x 1080, or 1080p) cameras at 1000 fps each.
Images from the cameras are transmitted via the CoaXPress interface standard, over fiber optic cabling, at over 1000 fps. This yields a data rate of over 8 Gbps. The system records images from these two cameras without any loss of data, and makes the images available for operator playback on-demand.
A multi-channel, high-speed recording system based around a portable computing architecture provides rapid setup and tear-down capabilities, while the fiber optic cabling offers the ability to have cable runs measured in hundreds of meters, as well as immunity from electromagnetic noise often found in industrial settings.
