iENSO announces the launch of 4K line of Sony MIPI Sensor Modules for off-the-shelf integration of embedded imaging, wireless and display systems
Toronto, ON (August 10, 2020) – iENSO, provider of Embedded Vision Systems, announced today the launch of three 4K resolution MIPI Sensor Modules. The product line is initially being rolled out with the Sony IMX317, IMX377, and IMX334-based TRUE 4K UHD solutions with more expected later this year as the company executes on its roadmap.
The iENSO series of MIPI sensor modules are meant to help companies accelerate the design process by allowing faster integration paths with system on modules as well as various peripheral technologies such as wireless and displays.
The series delivers exceptional performance combining iENSO’s embedded vision IP with Sony’s industrial level of 4K resolution CMOS sensors, featuring Sony’s latest sensor technologies such as STARVIS (Back-illuminated pixel technology) and DOL-HDR (Digital Overlap High Dynamic Range).
With STARVIS technology, a wider range of light is collected on the photodiode, achieving high sensitivity. Moreover, it uses the very first pixel specifically developed for surveillance use in a back-illuminated structure which realizes high picture quality in the visible and near-IR light spectrums.
With DOL-HDR technology, the sensor modules perform extremely well for surveillance camera images in which light and dark regions coexist, enabling both the light and dark regions to be captured clearly to achieve higher surveillance camera visual recognition performance. When combined with iENSO’s extensive integration experience and proven embedded vision ecosystem, this new line of MIPI sensor modules can be leveraged to reduce costs, risks and design time for markets such as home robotics & automation, security & surveillance as well as autonomous vehicles.
“Over the next 12 months, iENSO will continue to introduce modules to its ecosystem that will allow customers to reduce delays and supply chain complexities tied to the integration of imaging devices”, says iENSO’s co-founder Mike Liwak. “We believe our design expertise, supply chain mechanics and integration support will complement Sony’s award-winning sensors.”
