Mitsubishi Electric and HACARUS Launch Visual Inspection AI & Industrial Robot Collaboration at Manufacturing World Nagoya
The joint solution, targeting automation of visual inspections for large inspection targets will make its premiere at the Manufacturing World Nagoya trade show – in addition HACARUS Check for FANUC CRX Series will also be on display.
March 27th, 2024, Kyoto, Japan – HACARUS, on a mission to bring the next generation of instruments to every industry, today announced that it’ll exhibit at Manufacturing World Nagoya, to be held at Port Messe Nagoya for three days from April 10.
At the booth, demonstrations of the new AI visual inspection system HACARUS Check for MELFA FR Series, which is currently under development will be shown for the first time. This system is designed to automate inspections of large die-casting parts and assembly inspection of finished products such as engine blocks. HACARUS will also show HACARUS Check for FANUC CRX series, which is designed for small to medium sized inspection targets, and allows for 360° and single-sided inspections of automotive metal parts such as aluminum die-castings components.
HACARUS will further promote digital transformation at manufacturing sites in the automotive parts industry by linking various robotic systems with its HACARUS Check AI Software, which is uniquely differentiated in that it is able to create highly accurate defect detection models from small data sets, trained with only good data, and can be adopted to changing production conditions with simple adjustments.
Solutions on Display
HACARUS Check for MELFA FR Series
HACARUS signed a collaboration agreement with Mitsubishi Electric Corporation in January 2024 to expand its AI visual inspection business. This is the first collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric’s MELFA FR series of industrial robots. HACARUS will introduce AI visual inspection, which reduces tact time by combining the speed of industrial robots with the coordinated movements of multiple units using Mitsubishi’s sequencer and other devices.
HACARUS Check for FANUC CRX Series
This AI visual inspection solution was developed as a plug-in compatible device for the cooperative robot CRX series manufactured by FANUC and released in June 2023. We have developed this product in response to customer requests and inspection environments, including a multi-camera option for larger parts in addition to small parts, and are promoting the on-site introduction of this product to the automotive parts industry.
