XEP high extinction polarizers

March 3, 2011
An ideal option for maximizing performance and minimizing alignment requirements. Unlike Brewster angle polarizers which work at an angle of incidence of 56°, the XEP high extinction polarizer works at 45°. Consequently, the reflected and transmitted beams are separated by 90° and orthogonally polarized, just like a cube polarizer. This makes them ideal for use as either a polarizing beamsplitter or beam combiner. The XEP high extinction polarizer does not have to be angle tuned to maximize performance. The hard dielectric coating is both durable and dense, making it easy to clean, simple to align and impervious to wavelength shift.
