JetPack 3.1, the software development kit (SDK) for the Jetson TX1 and TX2 (pictured) embedded artificial intelligence computing platforms, has been released by NVIDIA. JetPack 3.1 features upgrades to TensorRT 2.1 and cuDNN 6.0 and delivers up to a two-times increase in deep learning inference performance for real-time applications like vision-guided navigation and motion control, which benefit from accelerated batch size 1. Additionally, for the first time, developers will have access to the same unified code base for both TX1 and TX2, including a shared Linux kernl 4.4 codeline, libraries, and APIs. The SDK, according to NVIDIA, will enable a “generation of autonomous machines, including delivery robots, telepresence, and video analytics.
