IDS Launches New 3D Camera

Stereo vision 3D camera designed for array of machine vision applications performed in harsh conditions.

IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH has launched a new 3D camera, the Ensenso B. This color 3D stereo vision camera comes with a Gigabit Ethernet interface. It has 2472 x 2064, 5 MPixel resolution and can achieve a frame rate of between 3 and 10 fps. It has focal length of 4 mm with a relative aperture of 2.8 and a vergence angle of 7°. It has an operating distance of 210 to 2000 mm, focus distance of 350 mm, and baseline pupillary distance of 75 mm. It is capable of delivering 3D data from a distance of up to 20 cm.

The camera is especially designed to be used in harsh conditions for a variety of machine vision applications. Rated IP65/67, it is mounted in an aluminum housing. It has a footprint of 120 x 56 x 104 mm and weighs 1100 g. It can operate in temperatures from 0°C to 40°C. It has shock resistance of 80 g, 1.9 ms / 25 g, 6ms and vibration resistance of 30to 500 Hz 10 g.
