From October 4-6, 2022, VISION 2022, which will be held in Stuttgart, Germany, will provide a platform for key stakeholders to present and discuss trending topics and innovations from the machine vision industry. Highlights of the event include the Industrial VISION Days and the presentation of the VISION Award.
The Industrial VISION Days are organized by VDMA Machine Vision (Frankfurt, Germany: www.vdma.org), a trade association, and Messe Stuttgart (Stuttgart, Germany; www.messe-stuttgart.de) , organizer of the trade show.
Mark Williamson, Chairman of VDMA Machine Vision says, “The Industrial VISION Days once again have lots of exciting topics covering all areas of machine vision, be it in camera technology, robot vision and 3D vision, software and AI, optics and illumination, hyperspectral imaging, or machine vision standards as well as novel applications.”
The forum is scheduled to include about 50 company presentations, 16 startup pitches, and presentations from the five finalists for the VISION Award.
In addition to VISION Days, the VISION Award, which will be presented on the forum stage, is another key feature of the trade show. This year will be the 25th time that the award has been given to honor the best innovations from the machine vision industry. “We received 61 entries in total—an increase of almost 40% compared to last year. It’s an impressive figure,” says Florian Niethammer, Head of Trade Fairs & Events at Messe Stuttgart.
The VISION Award jury has looked at all the entries and put together a shortlist of the most interesting developments. “Among the entries for the VISION Award 2022, the trending topics in the machine vision industry were very much in evidence: embedded vision, artificial intelligence, components, vision toolboxes as well as algorithmic and application-specific working methods. The quality of the entries for the VISION Award was particularly high this year,” says Christian Ripperda, Managing Director of Interroll Innovation GmbH (Sant'Antonino, Switzerland; www.interroll.com) and member of the VISION Award jury.
Five finalists will present their innovations on October 5, 2022. Those companies are as follows:
- Brighter AI Technologies GmbH (Berlin, Germany; www.brighter.ai)
- Edge Impulse (San Jose, CA, USA; www.edgeimpulse.com)
- Kitov.ai (Petah Tikva, Israel; www.kitov.ai)
