AAEON releases new network platform powered by Intel Xeon processors
The FWS-8600 network appliance from AAEON is built around the 2nd generation Intel Xeon scalable processor, that makes possible LAN throughput up to between 300 and 400 Gb/s. According to the manufacturer, this gives the FWS-8600 the ability to replace multiple network devices and allow for a simplified network infrastructure.
AAEON designed the FWS-8600 to handle applications like unified threat management, software defined networks, and network function virtualization. The network appliance uses a dual processor configuration, which gives users up to 40 processor cores. The FWS-8600 also features four lockable hard drive bays, 16 DDR4 memory slots, and support for up to 512 GB of RDIMM ECC RAM.
