Balluff vision sensor checks multiple codes
An ID version of theSharpshootervision sensor can read more than 10 types of linear barcodes, including PDF417 and 2-D Data Matrix codes at a standard vision resolution of 640 × 480 pixels. An optical character verification (OCV) tool checks characters such as date codes or expiration codes that can coexist with barcodes, supporting factory automation applications.

NEW PRODUCT PRESS RELEASE
Balluff’s new Sharpshooter ID vision sensor reads Linear and Data Matrix codes
The Sharpshooter ID reads the most common codes on the market with one of the highest code module resolutions available in its price range.
Florence, KY: Balluff’s line of Sharpshooter vision sensors now includes an ID version designed to read a large range of linear bar codes and 2D Data Matrix codes, as well as optical character verification (OCV). By introducing the Sharpshooter ID version, Balluff now provides a full range of low-cost, easy-to-configure vision sensor products.
The Sharpshooter ID vision sensor can read more than 10 types of linear bar codes, including PDF417 and 2D Data Matrix codes. The Data Matrix code reader is designed to read both printed and DPM (direct part mark) based marks. The ID version also has an OCV tool that can verify alphanumeric characters like date codes or expiration codes that can typically coexist with barcodes. The Sharpshooter ID incorporates Balluff’s new higher resolution algorithm, providing the highest accuracy for code reading at a standard vision resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The ID code reader is also ECC 200 compliant and includes an Ethernet and Serial communication port as well as pass/fail I/O.
The Sharpshooter ID vision sensor uses CONVIS, the simple 3-step configuration software that is Windows based. Because the CONVIS software uses an Ethernet network connection, multiple vision sensors can be monitored and configured by a single PC. This same software version is used to configure the Standard and Advanced measurement versions of the Sharpshooter line to provide the greatest simplicity and convenience. Just like the measurement versions, the Sharpshooter ID version also has the storage capacity of 20 configurations/jobs, remote job switching via I/O, external lighting trigger and internal image storage.
