JANUARY 7, 2009--OptiBench is a measurement tool for aberrations such as distortion, telecentricity errors, and modulation transfer function (MTF). It detects current paraxial data including focal length and magnification. Autofocus enables reproducible statements on working and image distance of optics under test. Representation of asymmetrical distortions during the assembly or manipulation of lens elements offers the capability to discern the effects of corrections in the lens construction.

    PRESS RELEASE

    OptiBench MTF and distortion measurement

OptiBench is an efficient and fast measurement tool for nearly all relevant aberrations like
    distortion, telecentricity errors and MTF.

Quality control on imaging optics has been a rather timeconsuming task with a demand for highly skilled personal - now it is ready for easy use in laboratory and series production surroundings. Moreover, on-line corrections to fine tune a lense are possible.

The essential quality factors of the imaging optics can be grasped and recorded fully automated, quickly and completely:

Paraxial data: OptiBench offers the detection of the current paraxial data like focal length and magnification. An autofocus enables reproducible statements on working and image distance of the optics under test. Even the location of the optical axis can be detected.

Distortion: Does your manufactured lens achive the amount of distortion your optics designer promises in series production ? Fullfilling the standards of DIN 58 187 OptiBench gives you the guarantees of industry conform interpretation of the performance of your optics.

Live-picture of distortion: Representation of the asymmetrical distortions during the assembly or manipulation of lens elements offers the possibility to judge directly the effects of corrections in the lens construction.

MTF: You easily can carry out the very quality measure with OptiBench in fast one-shot-technology at any picture field position using white light.

Telecentricity: The main feature of dimensional measurement technology seems to be current production standard in optics fabrication.

OptiBench gives quantitative statements about the telecentricity of your lenses.
