Applied Robotics (Glennville, NY, USA), a manufacturer of robotic end-of-arm tooling and automation solutions, has announced that Michael F. Quinn, P.E., has stepped into the position of chief executive officer and president upon the retirement of Thomas Petronis.

Petronis, who joined Applied Robotics in 1983 after 18 years with GE's Automation Development operation, has played an integral part in ARI's development.

A licensed professional engineer, Quinn comes to Applied Robotics with 45 years of senior management and technical experience with the US Naval Nuclear Program at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory and with a record in strategic planning, system engineering, and root-cause analysis.

"We are going to miss Tom's dedication to our people and the company and his automation knowledge, but we wish him all the best," said Quinn. "Like Tom, I am passionate about the huge potential for the automation industry and Applied Robotics' ability to harness that potential for our customers, employees, and shareholders. Over the next several months, Tom and I will continue working with the Board and the management team to ensure a seamless transition with his retirement."
