JULY 27--The open architecture of the PI Vision (www.pi-vision.com) Universal Video Management System (UVMS), a third-generation network video recorder that bridges the gap between analog and IP network cameras, is enabling the integration of best of breed encoders and IP cameras. Scalable from 16 to more than 5000 cameras, UVMS supports virtual matrix technology that provides almost unlimited switching capabilities and much greater flexibility in the architecture of video surveillance systems.

In addition to supporting traditional CCTV and standard-resolution IP cameras, UVMS now supports IQinVision's 1-, 2-, and 3-Mpixel IQeye product lines. UVMS enables users to digitally pan/tilt and zoom in live or recorded video. When combined with the IQeye's megapixel image quality, you can digitally zoom on recorded images and see facial details or read number plates.

IQinVision (www.iqeye.com) designs, manufactures, and markets high-performance, multimegapixel IP cameras, intelligent video processing platforms, and network-video-recording systems. IQinVision is privately held and headquartered in California with regional offices in Pennsylvania and Utrecht, Netherlands. The company's products are available as IQeye-branded, private-labeled, and custom OEM models.
