FEBRUARY 25--ViewSonic Corp. (Walnut, CA; www.ViewSonic.com) has received funding from Intel Capital (www.intel.com/capital) that will help the company further develop its future visual technology initiatives, including next-generation digital-display products for home and business applications. The details of the investment will not be disclosed. ViewSonic is a global provider of visual technology, including computer monitors, flat-panel displays, projectors, and the latest in SuperPDA, Tablet PC, wireless monitors, and HDTV technology for today's business, education, entertainment, Internet, and professional markets.

"This investment from Intel Capital will enable ViewSonic to further explore the synergies between digital display and semiconductor-processor technologies that we think will define the next viewing standard in the industry," said James Chu, ViewSonic chairman and chief executive officer. "These synergies will be used to develop display devices, which were once only considered peripherals, to be equipped with high-performance microprocessors and perform complex computing applications."
