This year, Vision Systems Design celebrates its 20th year as a global source of information for the vision industry. To celebrate this milestone, we’ve asked numerous industry veterans to provide their best prediction on where the machine vision and imaging industry could be in the next 20 years.

This year, Vision Systems Designcelebrated its 20th year as a global source of information for the vision industry. To celebrate this milestone, we’ve asked numerous industry veterans to provide their best prediction on where the machine vision andimaging industry could be in the next 20 years.

This began back in February, when AIA President Jeff Burnstein actually provided a look back at the last 20 years, before we began to look forward. In this article, Burnstein discussed the application of vision beyond the factory floor, market expansion and globalization, and more.

Then starting in March, Scott Krig, Principal, Krig Research, started off the prediction series, offering his opinion that “Within 20 years, computer vision will be a commodity component within the fabric of the worldwide analytics infrastructure.
