JUNE 19--The European Patent Office issued patent No. 0803080 to Imaging Dynamics Corp. (IDC; Calgary, Alberta, Canada; www.imagingdynamics.com) for its filmless x-ray apparatus. The company is a provider of cost-effective digital radiology solutions.

"IDC is proud to receive this confirmation from the European Patent Office," said Michael Baker, company president and CEO. "Our team is very pleased the European Patent Office is affirming our status as the inventor of this cutting-edge technology."

Robin Winsor, inventor of the technology and CTO of IDC, notes this is an important achievement. "It is good to have the European patent, which can serve as a base for the many refinements being produced by the research-and-development team at IDC."

Imaging Dynamics manufactures the Xplorer system, an affordable, efficient, high-resolution digital radiography detector and diagnostic image-management system that eliminates the need for film in general human diagnostic imaging. The company believes that its product provides a price-to-performance ratio superior to competitive products. IDC has Health Canada approval and US Food and Drug Administration marketing clearances.
