The PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group (PICMG; Wakefield, MA; www.picmg.org), a consortium of industrial-computer-product vendors dedicated to the creation of open industry standards, has re-elected all of its officers for 2001. Group membership now numbers more than 600 companies located in more than 12 countries.

The group officers include president Joe Pavlat, director of strategic planning at Motorola Computer Group; vice president of marketing Rob Davidson, director of marketing at Ziatech; vice president of technology Dick Somes, technical director for standards and industry relations at Force Computers; and secretary-treasurer Michael Munroe, director of business at ERNI.

Says president Pavlat, "As we move beyond CompactPCI and toward switched serial interconnects and optical transport, PICMG specifications will continue to ensure consistency and clear migration paths for manufacturers and end-users alike."

Adds vice president Somes, "Our challenges are to maintain focus on the technical activities we undertake, driving them to prompt completion while responding to emerging technologies."
