Seminar helps sort out image-processing sequences

Researchers often need to measure the distribution of particles, cells, and other objects in images based on size, shape, roundness, smoothness, density, color, and other features.

But identifying and classifying objects in images that contain mixed populations into subgroups based on differences in morphological and optical properties can be tedious, time-consuming, and subject to error unless assisted by image-processing tools that are designed for the task.

Now attendees of a free web-based seminar -- presented by Jeff Knipe from Media Cybernetics (Bethesda, MD, USA) - can learn how to apply a sequence of processing steps to their images and see how to use feature-extraction and measurement tools to categorize, sort, count, and graph their data.
