Photron has announced the release of the FASTCAM Mini UX50, a 1.3 MPixel camera that operates at 2,000 fps at full resolution, 2,500 fps at 720 HD resolution, and up to 160,000 fps at reduced resolution. The Mini UX50 features a 1.3 MPixel proprietary CMOS image sensor with a 10 µm x 10 µm pixel size and a global electronic shutter. The camera also has a GigE interface and 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB memory options. In addition, the compact (120 mm x 120 mm x 90 mm) camera features a low-light mode, which drops the frame rate and shutter time to their maximum values while maintaining other set parameters, which enables users to position and focus the camera. Mini UX50 cameras are designed for a variety of tasks, including biomechanics, life sciences, aerospace, defense, material sciences, and automotive safety testing applications.
