Algolux wins Gold and Silver at Vision Systems Design 2018 Innovators Awards
Algolux, the leading provider of machine learning optimization platforms for autonomous vision, has won two Vision Systems Design Innovators Awards. Algolux was presented with a Gold Award for its CANA full-stack deep neural network (DNN) for robust perception and a Silver Award in recognition of its CRISP-ML tool for optimizing imaging and vision systems.
Algolux’s CANA robust perception stack and CRISP-ML optimization platform were chosen by a panel of systems integrators, consultants and academics with years of experience in specifying, designing and configuring image processing and machine vision systems.
The entries were judged on originality and innovation, along with their positive impact on designers, systems integrators and end users. Judging criteria also included whether the product fulfills a need in the market that is not already addressed and whether it leverages a novel technology.
Perception accuracy for autonomous vision in challenging imaging conditions, such as low light and adverse weather, is mission-critical for safety in autonomous vision. CANA applies a novel end-to-end DNN that integrates the image formation model with the high-level computer vision model to significantly improve accuracy versus today’s alternative state of the art approaches.
Tuning cameras for image quality (IQ) is presently a manually iterative and costly process requiring the expert imaging team to spend months of effort finding the right ISP parameters for each lens and sensor configuration. CRISP-ML applies machine learning and objective IQ metrics to automate the tuning process within days, providing an optimal parameter solution for imaging or computer vision systems.
“We are thrilled to win these two Innovators Awards. This type of recognition from industry experts provides unique validation that we are solving important problems,” said Allan Benchetrit, Algolux President and CEO. “The awards serve as an acknowledgement that our solutions are poised to make a meaningful impact at a time where safety is at top of mind in the development of vision systems, especially in the automotive industry.”
"This prestigious program allows Vision Systems Design to celebrate and recognize the most innovative products and services in the vision and image processing industry,” said Alan Bergstein, publisher of Vision Systems Design (http://www.vision-systems.com). “Our 2018 Honorees are an outstanding example of companies who are making an impact in the industry."
The 2018 Visions Systems Design Innovators Awards Honorees are featured in the June Issue of Vision Systems Design magazine as well as on http://www.vision-systems.com.
