The Cognex In-Sight L38 is a 3D machine vision system with embedded AI.
It is one of three products entered in the Edge Awards for the machine vision category.
The In-Sight L38 features AI tools that are especially designed for ease of deployment, even with minimal experience, requiring as few as five to ten images for setup. The system also comes with a full suite of both 2D and 3D tools, including algorithms and edge learning tools, that allows users to detect complex defects and measure dimensional variances in real-world units.
The system also offers advanced on-device optics that require no external lighting. These include a speckle-free laser designed to minimizes speckle and glare, which are common issues with traditional 3D laser systems; and high-powered laser designed to support high-speed production lines while meeting Class 2 safety standards, eliminating the need for enclosures and allowing adjustments during operation, which reduces costs and improves line efficiency.
The In-Sight L38 is designed for a wide variety of machine vision applications, including assembly verification, robotic guidance, and automated inspections.
Edge Award winners will be chosen by the readers of Machine Design, Electronic Design, Power & Motion, Microwaves & RF, Laser Focus World, Military + Aerospace Electronics, and Vision Systems Design.
