Specialized Imaging Launches Updated Framing Camera

Designed for ultra high-speed imaging applications, camera can achieve up to 1 billion fps frame rate.

Specialized Imaging has launched a new version of its SIM family of ultra high-speed framing cameras. The camera, known as SIMX, is designed to capture up to 16 high resolution images without creating shading or parallax at up to 1 billion fps.

The camera can achieve up to 50lp/mm system resolution and has 1320 x 1024 pixel sensor resolution. It has up to 16 discrete intensified optical channels, adjustable inter-frame time in 1 ns steps, and up to 10,000x gain adjustment capability. The camera comes with a standard Nikon F-mount lens mount and has a Canon lens mount option available. It also has an optional port for high-speed video.

The camera is designed for imaging applications requiring ultra high-speed imaging capability, including areas such as nanotechnology and micromachines, medical research testing, spray and particle analysis, and automotive testing.
