Featuring the company’s NIR+ near infrared (NIR) technology, the AR0522 and AR0431 CMOS image sensors from ON Semiconductor combines high dynamic range with enhanced low-light performance to enable high-end security and surveillancecameras.ON Semiconductor’s NIR+ technology, according to the company, increases the quantum efficiency of its sensors in the NIR region without sacrificing color fidelity in the visible spectrum.

The AR0522 is a 1/2.5-inch 5.1 MPixel sensor with a 2.2 µm backside illuminated (BSI) pixel technology platform that achieves a frame rate of 60 fps and delivers approximately twice the sensitivity in the NIR wavelength of the existing AR0521 image sensor. The AR0431 is a 1/3.2-inch 4 MPixel sensor with a 2 µm BSI pixel technology platform that achieves a frame rate of 120 fps and offers low power modes and can deliver slow motion video.
