DECEMBER 1, 2008--Andor Technology (Belfast, UK; www.andor.com), a provider of scientific imaging and spectroscopy technologies, has announced new growth and investment in its United States operations.

In 2008, recognizing exposure to the scientific research markets and their funding cycles, Andor identified a target to grow OEM sales in the US. Part of this strategy called for increased investment in sales, production, and support for OEMs to facilitate increased volumes.

Andor's strategy has seen results with the addition of new OEM partners and increases in both sales and bookings in its other markets. The company says one newly won OEM account alone is expected to deliver nearly $3 million in incremental business during fiscal 2009.

Chris Calling, president of Andor US, says, "Since commencing our US operations in 1997 with our regional headquarters in Connecticut, the company has experienced growth in all regions and in multiple research application areas and OEM segments. These recent OEM wins demonstrate a more secure balance of revenues between the research markets and OEM instruments sector. This creates even more opportunities for future growth, and we look forward to maintaining this momentum."
