Low-cost, nonprogramming F400 color machine-vision system offers a range of color-detection methods. Controlled via a hand-held keypad, it can detect for correct color, surface defects, and pattern matching of different objects with different colors. Measuring 48 x 31 x 40-mm and operating on 24 Vdc, the one-camera system provides a 512 x 484-pixel viewing area, inspects as many as 8 colors simultaneously, and stores as many as 16 setup scenes with as many as 16 inspection windows in each scene. It comes with eight dc inputs and 16 NPN transistor outputs for integration with various plant automation devices. Price is under $6800.
