Applied Vision partners with Metal Packaging for support in India
SEPTEMBER 22, 2008--Machine-vision system designer and manufacturer Applied Vision (Akron, OH; www.appliedvision.com) has partnered with Bangalore-based Metal Packaging International (MPI) to provide full-service local sales and support in India. MPI will also serve Applied Vision customers in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.
"South Asia, and India especially, is one of the fastest growing machine-vision markets in the world. The major manufacturers in this region are increasingly investing in infrastructure like high-speed lines and looking to machine vision to help them meet progressively stringent quality requirements," says Mohan Kuruvilla, managing director of MPI. "We chose to work with Applied Vision because they offer the most advanced systems on the market, the ability to engineer application-specific products, and the support regional manufacturers need to fully integrate vision systems into their operations."
Applied Vision's partnership is designed to provide local representation and support from a well-known, locally-based Indian distributor. "We are fortunate to be able to strategically partner with MPI. With over 26 years of industry experience, they fully understand the vision requirements of metal container manufacturers," says Bud Patel, vice president of sales for Applied Vision.
Applied Vision says its presence in India is intended to strengthen the company's regional network, which includes a direct sales office in Singapore, a technical support center in Malaysia, and a full-service sales and technical support office in China.
