AVT launches universal package SDK for FireWire and GigE Vision cameras
PRESS RELEASE
Allied Vision Technologies (AVT; Stradtroda, Germany) presents its new Software Development Kit (SDK) for the integration of AVT FireWire and Gigabit Ethernet cameras into image-processing systems. The AVT Universal Package is the first Windows SDK from Allied Vision Technologies that supports both FireWire (IEEE1394a/b) and Gigabit Ethernet (GigE Vision) interfaces.
Unified Software For Unified Product Range
The AVT Universal Package relies on components of the AVT FirePackage and the Prosilica PvAPI SDK for FireWire and GigE cameras respectively. AVT’s universal application programming interface UniAPI, which was previously available for IEEE1394 cameras only, is now part of the Universal Package and also supports GigE Vision. The new SDK is therefore compatible with the whole camera portfolio of Allied Vision Technologies, including the former Prosilica range with Gigabit Ethernet interface.
The software package includes high-performance FireWire and GigE drivers with minimal CPU load, along with the appropriate installation tools and a viewer application to test and configure AVT cameras.
Optimal Performance for AVT Cameras
“Using the AVT Universal Package, system developers can get the best out of their AVT camera and their smart features, whether they run on a FireWire or a GigE Vision interface”, says Jens Hashagen, Product Manager Software of Allied Vision Technologies.
The AVT Universal Package supports Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP 32-Bit versions and is available for AVT camera users as a free download on www.alliedvisiontec.com. A version supporting 64-Bit operating systems will be available shortly. Further updates for extended Smart Feature control will follow.
